How famous do you have to be to be on Wikipedia?  I just found out I'm on there, so I went and edited it a little, adding some new information about myself.

I would never have started this by myself.

Strange Eggs Review: Not as Good as he thought it was?

Augie De Blieck Jr., a staff writer for Comic Book Resources.com printed what at first reads as a great review for the Strange Eggs Anthology #1, and then retracts it when he realizes he was thinking of the wrong book.
The full review can be found here, but I quote the relevant part here:

"Tucked neatly away in the middle of Slave Labor Graphics ' voluminous solicitations lies STRANGE EGGS PRESENTS: BOXING BUCKET ONE SHOT.  If you missed the hilarious and pun-filled quest for life on the part of this small group of eggs in last year's short STRANGE EGGS novella, I almost have to feel sorry for you.  Don't let this second opportunity slip by.  The book is 48 black and white pages for $4.  Enjoy it while it lasts.
    UPDATE/CORRECTION: I'm 2 for 2 this week. Last year's book was called EGG STORY, and it's not the book this one is following up on, though the creator of the great EGG STORY is contributing a story to it.  OK, back to the column now. . . "

I'll say two things about this review: Mistakes happen, and Egg Story was a great book.  Thanks for the plug anyway.

There are a few mistakes:  the series lasted ten issues, and Ozchwitz was built by the Nazi invaders in 1944.

Chris Reilly interview at the Pulse

Chris Reilly did an interview at the Pulse that works as a nice summary of the various projects he and I have going on at SLG Publishing, Alias Entertainment, and in Hollywood.  You can read the interview here.

Kung Fu Babies!

My friend Erin Packer scored the role of Betsy in this production, which I saw last night.  The play was great, Erin was stellar, but the best part, for me, was the big surprise near the end of the second act.  The evil owner of a comic book company, Mr. Ace, describes how he is stealing the comic book creators rights to their own creations, "Just like I did with Steve Ahlquist and PupHedz!"  I nearly died laughing.  This has been a running joke in the show.  The writer, Lenny Schwartz, used to shop at the comic book store I managed called Atomic! Comics, and the coincidence of having Erin in the show, who knew me, and my similarity (in some ways) to the nerdy comic book creators in thee play, inspired this homage.  I was touched, delighted, honored, and surprised.

An original comedy written and directed by Lenny Schwartz about two guys named Gary and Fred, who create the number one comic book in recorded history: Kung-Fu Babies!  Soon, however, the rights to the comic are swindled away by their evil publisher. Now, Gary and Fred must fight to take back what is theirs the only way they know how: Kung-Fu style! A laughable and loveable tale about friendship, deception, polar bears, and (of course) love. Runs Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays at 8 pm from March 30-April 8.
